El martes 21 de diciembre se llevó a cabo la última Asamblea General del año 2010 del Frente de Mujeres Defensoras de la Pachamama, en la cual se evaluó las actividades y avances alcanzados, así como las limitantes que se presentaron en el año que culminó.
El análisis dio un saldo positivo, lo cual ha dado más ánimo a las integrantes del Frente para continuar fortaleciendo su proceso organizativo en el 2011.
El Foro “Desafíos de las Defensoras de Derechos Humanos en el Contexto Actual”, realizado el 30 de noviembre, fue señalado como uno de los logros importantes en la difusión y promoción de los Derechos Humanos y de la situación de las Mujeres Defensoras en el conflicto minero que se vive en Ecuador. Para este evento se publicó la Cartilla No. 1 de Exigibilidad y Defensa de Derechos elaborada por la Comisión de Asuntos Jurídicos y de Protección del Frente. (Ver entrada anterior)
El Frente de Mujeres Defensoras de la Pachamama hace público su agradecimiento a todas las personas, organizaciones e instituciones que de una y otra manera apoyaron su trabajo durante el 2010 y espera contar con su valiosa colaboración en el nuevo año.
WE WILL GO ON DEFENDING THE PACHAMAMA ALL THROUGH 2011
On Tuesday December 21st, the last 2010 General Assembly of The Women Defenders of The Pachamama Front was held. The activities done and the progress achieved as well as the limitations found throughout 2010 were assessed.
The analysis gave a positive balance, which has encouraged the members of The Front to continue to strengthen our organizational process throughout 2011.
The Forum "Challenges of Human Right Defenders in the Current Context", held on November 30th, was identified as one of the important achievements in making Human Rights and the situation of Women Defenders in the Ecuadorian mining conflict known. On the occasion of this event, the 1st issue of a booklet on the Demand and Defense of Rights written by the Committee of Legal Affairs and Protection of the Front came out.
The Women Defenders of The Pachamama Front thank all individuals, organizations and institutions that supported us in one way or another throughout 2010 and look forward to their valuable help in the New Year.
WE WANT THE EFFORTS TO PRESERVE EVERYBODY'S HOME FOR THE RISING GENERATIONS OF DAUGHTERS AND SONS OF OUR MOTHER EARTH TO INCREASE THROUGHOUT 2011
